Northwoods Sectionals 2k8
Sectionals is approaching fast, faster than in previous years now that the whole series has been pushed up. Northwoods sectionals will be on April 12,13th this year in Maple Plain. This has been something I have been waiting for, for a long time. I haven't played in the series since my junior year when St. Thomas qualified for Regionals for the first time, last year I was out with the broken wrist. So, I've been waiting for this for a long time. Here is the list of teams I think will be at Sections.

Here is my shot at seeding these teams...
Pool A: CUT, St Thomas, Mankato, Random Team
Pool B: MN-TC, GOP, Gustavus, St Thomas B
Pool C: Winona St, St Johns, Hot Karls, St Olaf B
Pool D: St Olaf, Duluth, Hamline, Macalester
which means the seedings would go as....
1) Cut
2)MN-TC
3) Winona St
4) St Olaf
5)Duluth
6) St Johns
7) GOP
8) St Thomas
9) Mankato
10) Gustavus
11) Hot Karls
12) Hamline
13) Macalester
14) St Olaf B
15) St Thomas B
16) Random Team
Then assuming our section gets six bids, which I wouldn't be surprised if we got 7 since we have a big section that is normally stronger than all the other sections here are my picks for regionals...

These are just my thoughts for now, we'll see what happens in two weeks.

It is weird how things do not change too much from year to year in our section. It is a bummer that St. Cloud fell off the face of the earth. They are like Macalester in a snese where they used to have a great team and pumped out awesome players and now they barely have a team.
"Back in my day" St. Cloud was easily the 2 seed and now they do not even play. Other than that the tables have not changed too much.
I am super pumped to see how the reign does. Old habbits die hard. Best of luck little becker we will see on the field.
I think you could argue a #1 seed for Minnesota right now.

you could try to argue it but theres no way. I dont think theyve had any head to heads this year, and if they have CUT won, otherwise I would have heard about it. Sure MN has done well as of late, Centex, better than CUT even, but there's no way that MN would get seeded above CUT based on their history alone. I believe the only win MN has over CUT was in 05 in the sectionals finals. Could happen again, we'll see.
